Taehyung Ahn
Taehyung Ahn, Ph.D. in International Relations, is the President of the Center for U.S.-Korea Politics and Economy in Los Angeles, where he researches U.S.-Korea relations and the Korean Peninsula issues. He has served as a senior research fellow at the Institute for Korean Peninsula Future Strategies in Seoul, Korea, and the Korean Unification Research Strategies Council in Los Angeles, California. He studied History at Seoul National University, Political Science at Yonsei University, and International Relations at Florida International University. His main research interests include U.S. foreign policy, East Asian international politics, and international relations theory.
Recently, he has been working to integrate contemporary political philosophy and social theory into the Korean Peninsula issues, while also developing policy alternatives aimed at establishing lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula. He was a visiting scholar at UC Irvine and has participated in public diplomacy activities for peace in Korea through the Korean American Public Action Committee (KAPAC). He has contributed over ten academic papers to various professional journals and scholastic books, and recently co-authored Five Perspectives toward Peace on the Korean Peninsula and The Solutions for the Korean Peninsula Problems: A New Search, both published in Korean in 2024.
