Mission and Vision
The Center for U.S. ‑ Korea Politics and Economy (CUKPE) is a non‑profit, non‑governmental, non‑partisan, independent policy research institute. Through academic and educational events such as forums, academies, conferences, and seminars, and via publications such as issue briefs, policy reports, and monographs, it aims to contribute to scholarship on U.S. – Korea relations, peace on the Korean Peninsula, Northeast Asian political economy and international relations; to offer policy recommendations to the executive and legislative branches of Korea and the U.S.; and to provide education to its members and the general public.
Located in Los Angeles, California, CUKPE seeks to leverage the strengths of the largest Korean community in the U.S., while engaging in diverse networking activities spanning both Korea and the U.S. to make timely, flexible, focused, and practical policy contributions. Moreover, through high‑quality analysis and substantive programming, the Institute offers its members, and more broadly the public, access to advanced information on major international political and economic issues surrounding the Korean Peninsula.
